The latest rules for groups travelling to France

the latest rules you need to be aware of before travelling to France

This is our understanding of the current requirements for groups travelling to France from 15 March 2022. The rules to enter France, and to return home, are subject to change and may be different by the time your trip departs.

CAN I TRAVEL FROM THE UK TO FRANCE RIGHT NOW?

Yes, fully vaccinated travellers from the UK, and children travelling with them, can travel to France.

WHAT ARE THE CURRENT REQUIREMENTS TO ENTER FRANCE?

Fully vaccinated travellers from the UK do not need to take a test to enter France.
Whether vaccinated or not, children are able to enter France if accompanied by a fully vaccinated adult (parent, teacher, tutor etc).
Children aged 12 - 17 years who are not fully vaccinated will need a pre-departure PCR test (within 72 hours) or lateral flow test (within 48 hours).
Children under 12 are exempt from COVID-19 travel restrictions.

All travellers aged 12 years and over must complete this sworn statement of honour testifying that they have no COVID symptoms and have not recently been in contact with a COVID case.

Visit the French Consulate website for more information on UK citizens entering France.

DOMESTIC COVID RESTRICTIONS LIFTED

The Pass Sanitaire and Pass Vaccinal, which were used to demonstrate a persons COVID/vaccination status, were discontinued on 14 March 2022. This means that you can now move about freely in France.

  • You will not be asked to demonstrate your COVID or vaccination status to enter venues
  • Masks may still be required on public transport

WHAT ARE THE RULES FOR GROUPS RETURNING HOME FROM FRANCE?

All UK COVID travel restrictions will be removed with effect from 18 March 2022, making travel easier and more affordable. This means that, regardless of vaccination status, the following will apply:

  • children and adults no longer need to complete a Passenger Locator form
  • unvaccinated travellers no longer need to take a pre-departure COVID test before embarking on their return journey
  • unvaccinated travellers are not required to take a COVID test when back in the UK

CAN I TRAVEL TO FRANCE IF I'M UNVACCINATED?

Unvaccinated adults can only visit France with an essential reason to travel.

Group leaders must factor vaccination timescales into their plans. Read our COGO Education blog on the vaccination requirements for international travel.
